Celebrating the Darug People and Enhancing Public Spaces for All

At Astra Street Furniture, our mission to enhance public spaces and the lives of Australians aligns with our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy. A key aspect of our CSR commitment is to “Enhance Society” which includes to respect and recognize the traditional owners of the land, particularly the Darug people, on whose land we operate.

The Darug people, Indigenous custodians of the greater Sydney region in New South Wales, Australia, have a profound connection to the land, waterways, and natural environment, forming the basis of their rich cultural heritage. They continue to contribute to Australia's cultural diversity while preserving their unique identity and connection to their ancestral lands.

Our mission to enhance society is reflected in our efforts to design and manufacture inclusive street furniture that complies with safety and DDA standards. This helps create vibrant and positive environments that promote improved wellbeing and personal safety for all community members. By acknowledging and respecting the Darug people and their culture, we can foster a more inclusive and harmonious society.

Our commitment to improving society involves giving back to the community through regular donations to charities and individuals or groups in need, as well as providing volunteer labour for charity and emergency response work.

As we continue striving to enhance public spaces and the lives of Australians, our dedication to our CSR policy and honouring the Darug people remain central to our efforts. By respecting traditional owners and designing inclusive street furniture, we aim to create a better future for all Australians and contribute to the cultural richness and diversity of our nation.
