How do I keep Birds out of my Outdoor Rubbish Bins?

Have you noticed that the bins in your facility are not protected from birds and wildlife? If so, they are extremely likely to pick through the bin and make a mess of your rubbish! Once rubbish has been correctly disposed of, we want it to stay in the bin but that is not always the case.

The easiest way to keep your rubbish safe from birds and remain in the bin is to have a hood or cover over your bins.

Luckily for you, we have been sure to design litter bins that help protect against birds and wildlife!

One of our most popular litter bin options is the London Bin available in a covered top option. The cover available in stainless steel or powder coat black, limits the access birds have to getting in the rubbish and deters them from spreading it around.

Another successful option are the Athens Wheelie Bin Enclosures that are available with curved covers, sloping covers or the most effective, the cube cover. The curved and sloping covered options, similar to the London Bin, limit the direct access birds have to reaching the rubbish.

The cube cover would be the most effective as it creates a box shape around the bin enclosure, leaving only one small opening, deterring the birds completely from accessing the rubbish in the bin! Similar in design, the Prague covered top bins also create a boxed off cover limiting any access a bird may find into the bin.

It is also very important to empty bins frequently so that rubbish does not reach the top or overflow, as overflowing rubbish provides birds with easy picking. Frequent emptying also eliminates the bad odours caused by smelly rubbish.

These covered top litter bins and wheelie bin enclosures not only limit access from birds and wildlife, but they also protect the rubbish from the elements that cause it to get soggy from the rain or fly away in strong winds!

Hopefully that has given you some ideas for how to keep pesky birds out of your bins and help keep your grounds clean!
