Are Wood Grain Aluminum Slats Hot to Sit On?

Are you wondering whether wood grain aluminum slats get hot to sit on? Here the facts!

There have been a number of tests on the heat held in slats and actually the heat of an aluminum slat is similar or less than that of a timber slat. Aluminum can feel hotter than timber however the wood grain powder coat reduces that ‘heat feel’ and tends to feel similar to that of a traditional hardwood timber slat.

The other factor that reduces the heat of an aluminum slatted piece of furniture is the width of the slat and the number of gaps across a seat or bench. We have 2 widths – 70mm & 40mm wide slats. Smaller slats have a number of gaps between them compared to some of the traditional aluminum planks that are up to 250mm wide and no gaps. The gaps provide air flow and therefore less feeling of heat.

Hopefully that helps to answer some of the worries you might have in relation to the wood grain aluminum slats!
